In 2008, Peter Eastgate ended up beating 58,000 players, to win $9 million in the main event. As I am writing this, the World Series of Poker website reports that there are only 63 players remaining between Darvin and the main event pot. Update 7/15/09 12:45pm: Darvin Moon is still the chip leader with $20,160,000 in chips (he is having a good day). Second place is Billy Kopp with $15,970,000 in chips and Third is Steven Begleiter with $11,885,000 in chips. Only 26 players remain between Darvin and the main event pot.
Update 7/16/09 10:10am: Darvin Moon is still the chip leader with $58,930,000 in chips and has made the coveted November Nine. At this point only 8 players remain between Darvin and the first place pot of $8,546,435. Second place is Eric Buchman with $34,800,000 in chips. Third place is Steven Begleiter with $29,885,000 in chips. The game will resume on November 7th. Good Luck Darvin!
